SYA Summer Basketball

SYA runs two summer leagues – House and Travel

House League

House league is for rising 2^nd through 12th grade boys and girls. Skills evaluations for 4^th grade and above are held in early June (2^nd and 3^rd grade teams are formed without skill evaluations). Games begin in late June. The season ends at the beginning of August. Games and practices are held during the week day evenings at local Centreville area school gyms. Registration is now open.

Travel League

Travel is a more competitive league for rising 5^th through 8^thgrade boys and girls. Travel Tryout Schedules are posted. Teams are selected by June 1^st. Games begin in late June. The season ends at the beginning of August. Games are played during the week day evenings at gyms in Fairfax county. Practices are held in local Centreville school area gyms.

Please Register for Travel after you have been notified that you have been selected for a team.

Summer Basketball Registration Open

Click on the red button to register for Summer Basketball. Register early to avoid wait lists. Go to Fees page for more info on cost. Do not register for travel basketball until you have been selected to a team.

Click on the blue button to register as a head coach or assistant coach. Coaches must register every season.

SYA conducts annual background checks on all head and assistant coaches for the safety of our players. Individuals must present a government-issued photo ID for verification if they are new to SYA.

Click on the green button to register as a volunteer. Basketball requires volunteers, such as referees(referees will be paid) and team reps, to register annually as volunteers.

All SYA Board of Directors members, as well as the members of each sport’s Board of Directors, must also register annually as volunteers. Just as we do with coaches, SYA conducts annual background checks on volunteers.

Summer Camps

Summer is a great time to develop your individual basketball skills. Players in our area have many High School basketball camp options. It’s a great way to improve and meet the coaching staffs and players of your favorite teams.
