Fees for all age brackets include practices (2 days/week approx 2-3 hrs ea, varying throughout the year), coaches’ stipends, 2 jerseys, warmups, 2 practice t-shirts, backpack gym bag, and tournaments (different by team). In the spring/late winter teams will participate in a local volleyball league for additional experience; 17s and 18s teams will participate in a local adult volleyball league. Due to the different tournaments and leagues each coach anticipates entering, fees differ between each team, as noted below.
2011-12 Club Season Fees
To better prepare our players and improve their individual skills and team performance, teams will have more practice time and most will participate in more tournaments. Fees include 2 practices per week, 2 jerseys, 1 set of warm-up jacket and pants, 2 practice t-shirts, and 1 backpack gym bag in addition to the tournaments listed below. No travel costs or accommodations are included in the fees. Fees for Nationals is not included and will be assessed to players if/when a bid is received, for those teams choosing to do so, in addition to the below amounts, TBD. If a team decides to change tournaments from those listed below, it will by swapping tournaments already budgeted for, or by collectively deciding to pay additional fees. Practice days and tournaments subject to change.

Players who accept an offer to play on a SYA Volleyball Club team will be making both financial and time commitments. Being part of a team requires players to make every effort to attend all practices and tournaments. While our athletes are students first, players are expected to plan ahead to complete school assignments, knowing that practices occur on regular days.
NOTE, that because SYAVBC is run as a separate organization from SYA (although is affiliated), we ask that any questions you have be directed by email to Club Director Sue Newman at

NOT to Dave Lacey, SYA Volleyball Commissioner, since he will have to route questions to SYAVBC, which will delay your reply.
To keep up with a rigorous academic and athletic schedule, players need to take care of themselves by adopting a healthy and nutritious diet, and by practicing good hygiene.
