SYA Softball is a fastpitch softball program for girls from the ages of 4 through 18. This program is organized under the umbrella of the Southwestern Youth Association, which has been serving southwestern Fairfax County since 1973. The mission of SYA Softball is to provide a quality youth sports program for Centreville, Clifton, and surrounding communities. We make that happen through the commitment of dedicated volunteers who want to make the softball experience as meaningful and enjoyable as possible for everyone who participates. Our community is indebted to everyone who makes this program possible including the league coordinators and others who help raise funds, run clinics, and distribute equipment and uniforms; those who volunteer as coaches and team parents; and those who put in long hours to maintain our fields. We can never have too many volunteers and urge you to contact a member of the SYA Softball Board if you want to help out.
This site is established as a resource for the youth, coaches, and parents involved in the SYA Softball program. You will find information about the structure of the program, registration, assessments, clinics, drills, field maintenance, fundraising, travel teams and more. We have included Fastpitch Links on a wide variety of subjects and we hope this information will help you learn more about this fascinating sport. Fastpitch softball is growing rapidly in popularity.
It is a medal sport in the Olympics, more and more colleges are establishing varsity softball programs, and there are many opportunities for young women who want to continue playing Fastpitch Softball after high school. This site is a tool for keeping parents and players informed about the latest happenings in the SYA Softball program. If you want to provide feedback on the content of this site or want to add information, please call or e-mail one of our Board Members.
