ECL Scoreboard Installation Finally Begins
This Capital project includes the purchase and installation of an electronic scoreboard, coupled with the installation of electrical power to the snack bar, also at ECL.  These two projects have been made possible due to the joint efforts of the Fairfax County Park Authority and the main SYA sports' users---Football, Lacrosse, and Soccer.  This is just another validation of the value that SYA adds to our community in its efforts to provide the best fields and gyms possible for all of the children of the Centreville and Clifton communities.

Ellanor C. Lawrence (ECL) Park Undergoes Renovations

SYA is very excited about the renovations that started this week at ECL #2 (this is the rectangular field to the left of the park behind the basketball courts). These renovations are a result of Park Authority Bond Referendum monies allocated for field improvements. The renovations include installing an artificial surface on ECL #2, erecting bleachers on concrete pads and expansion of the field size. These improvements will greatly increase our use and scheduling of this field as part of our normal allocation process. The project is scheduled for completion prior to the start of our fall season.

Once completed, project work continues to include several items of interest: lighting on ECL #2, improvements on ECL #5, #6 and #7, additional lights on diamond field(s) and possibly the installation of a higher backstop or netting at Field #6 to help deflect foul balls that go onto Field #5.

All work is being performed, coordinated and controlled by our friends at the Fairfax County Park Authority. Our contact has advised us that work began this week, which included silt and security fencing. We ask all our registrants to please ensure that you adhere to all signage directing you around this field during construction. We will keep you posted with regular updates on our website as we receive the information. As a continued partner with the Park Authority, please forward any questions to us that you may have about this project and we will answer those that we can and forward to the appropriate Park Authority Administrators those questions we cannot answer for you.
