Congratulations to Mark & Lorraine Yeo, Sully District Champions of Character Award Winners

On Tuesday, October 6, 2009, Mark and Lorraine Yeo were awarded the Sully District Champions of Character Parent Volunteer Award for 2009.  Mark and Lorraine have instilled within their family, and within the entire SYA organization, a sense of community and sportsmanship. Their work with SYA helps teach youth important life lessons about respect, sportsmanship, responsibility and discipline.  They understand what it means to "give back", as evidenced by the numerous volunteer positions they, and their children, have taken on over the years, in multiple sports.  While the list of volunteer roles is impressive, what really makes the Yeos unique is they way they become mentors.  They don't simply recruit referees or maintain fields.  They teach the skills to others and emphasize the redemptive nature of the work.  Please join the SYA Board in congratulating the Yeos when you see them on the field or at the basketball court.  Thank you Mark & Lorraine for all you do for SYA.
