Juniors/Minors session is full and on waiting list status

Keep up your game during the off season, prepare for high school tryouts, or give softball a try for the first time.

Register now for the SYA Softball February winter clinic, which is a four-week session on Sunday afternoons in the gym at Deer Park Elementary School, 15109 Carlbern Drive, in Centreville.  We’ll cover the same material as the January session, but girls are welcome to sign up for February, as well.

We’ll cover a wide range of softball skills like hitting fundamentals, throwing mechanics, base running, individual defense skills (all positions), speed and agility, and pitching fundamentals.  Girls will be grouped by age and skill level within each session.

UPDATE: The Juniors/Minors session is now full and on a waiting list status. We do have room for more Majors/Seniors.

Have you considered being a softball coach?

Coaches and assistant coaches are always in short supply, particularly in the spring season when our enrollment is at its peak.

Any adult can be a coach, not just parents. Former coaches who really enjoyed coaching but the kids are grown now--come on back! Local college students who played softball make great assistant coaches and potential future head coaches. Adults who enjoy playing softball might be interested in coaching. Mature high school students, particularly those who played travel or house softball, are terrific assistant coaches for the younger girls. Of course, all volunteers must pass a background check for the safety of our players.

Our more experienced coaches are always happy to mentor new coaches. You won’t go it alone!
