All baseball managers AND coaches affiliated with Babe Ruth must become certified by the beginning of the season by taking the online course at http://www.baberuthcoaching.org/. You must have completed this course to manage OR coach.
Managers and coaches must be 18 years of age or older. Managers are expected to attend SYA Babe Ruth board meetings during the season, support the league by upholding the SYABR Code of Conduct, meeting the League Organizations expectations of managers and will conduct themselves with good sportsmanship, during games, training activities and all other league activities.
Prospective managers and coaches must be willing to submit to a background check. Furthermore, the manager and coaches position is conditional upon the results of the background check and the completion of the required certification course.
Once you have completed the course successfully, forward the transcript completion to: Brian Seeley (SYABabeRuth@verizon.net)
Public Law No. 115-126 is the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017, commonly referred to as the Safe Sport Act. This act is intended to prevent the sexual abuse of minors and amateur athletes by requiring the prompt reporting of sexual abuse to law enforcement authorities, and for other purposes.
Babe Ruth League Inc. is instituting the requirements of this law through its Child Protection Risk Management Program. The program includes required training for coaches and other league officials that come in direct contact with our athletes. SafeSport Act training supplied from USA Baseball, at no charge, can be accessed at Abuse Awareness for Adults.
