Fall Clinic (Lacrosse)
The SYA Warriors & Lady Warriors Fall Lacrosse Clinic is held on six fall Sunday afternoons in September and October. It is designed for boys and girls new to lacrosse (novice or first year players) as well as those anxious to pick up their sticks and work on their skills for the upcoming Spring season. We teach the basics of the game in clinic style format. We will work on scooping, cradling, catching, passing, dodging, shooting, etc. All players are grouped by age for boys (U7, U9, U11, U13 and U15) and by grade for girls (pre-K/K, 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th). The format usually consists of 3-4 weeks of skills development with week 5 and 6 being reserved for potential scrimmages against each other and other local clubs.
The clinic provides the participants (and their parents) an introduction to the “fastest game on foot”, so they do not have to commit an entire season (and a full season of fees.) It is a great way to get to know a sport they may be unfamiliar with while still being able to participate in their regular fall season sport. We look forward to teaching you, and your children, the wonderful game of lacrosse.
