SYA offers scholarships to players who qualify and are in grades K-12.  Please review the Scholarship Application Form for qualifications.  All applications for scholarships must be received before late registration begins.  If a player registers after late registration fees are imposed, the player is responsible for the difference in on-time and late registration fees.  If you are applying for a scholarship, select “apply for financial assistance” as the payment option when registering online.

All scholarship players must pay a $75 application fee and Fairfax Co user fee of $8.  Depending on what type of assistance the player is receiving, they may owe an additional amount.  Players will not be placed on teams until all fees are received.

Players who provide documentation that they are receiving free or reduced lunch through Fairfax County will be awarded a 50% scholarship for registration fees only (less the $75 application fee).  Scholarships are not provided for clinics, camps, or all-stars. To qualify for a greater registration fee waiver ($83), players must provide documentation that they are receiving additional aid through the county, state or federal governments (i.e., Medicaid, housing assistance, food stamps, etc.).

Completed forms should be emailed to scholarships@syasports.org, faxed to the SYA office at 703-815-2180 or mailed to SYA, P.O. Box 471 Centreville, VA. 20122.  Once the forms have been received and reviewed, you will be notified of the status of your scholarship.  If you have any questions, you can contact the soccer office at admin@syasoccer.org or 703-539-8630.
